Do you need a Boating License in Wisconsin?
Wisconsin law requires those born on or after January 1, 1989, to pass a boater safety course and to carry a boater education card if operating a motorboat or PWC in Wisconsin.
Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Requirements
There is no minimum age requirement to take this online course.
You do not have to be a resident of Wisconsin to take this online course.

Equipment Rental Policies
The following rates and policies are subject to change without notice. Please read carefully before making a reservation.
DELIVERY
Do not have the means to get equipment to your home/job site? No problem, we deliver wherever equipment is needed. Give us a call!
Reservations & Payments
- A major credit card and half day is required to hold all reservations.
- Final payment may be made by card, or by cash or check to avoid credit card processing fees.
- A 24-hour notice is required for cancellations.
- No shows or cancellations without notice will result in a FULL day rate charged to the card on file.
- A signed rental agreement is required at the time of pick-up
- Renter must be present at time of pick up.
Rental Periods
Full-Day (same day) Rentals
- Pick-up any time after 7:00 AM/8:00 AM Winter (November thru April)
- All full-day rentals must be returned by 4:30 PM the same day.
Half-Day Rentals (If applicable)
- Morning: 7:00 AM – 11:30 AM
- Afternoon: 12:00 PM – 4:30 PM
Use & Responsibility
- All equipment is used at the renter’s own risk.
- Rock’s Rent-All maintains all equipment in good condition, but mechanical issues do not waive rental fees.
- The renter is fully responsible (100%) for care and condition of equipment, any/all damages/repairs while in their possession.
- Rock's Rent-All does not offer insurance.
- Equipment must be returned in the same condition as when rented.
- Charges apply for: Lost or damaged equipment (replacement cost).
- Repairable damage, which will be fixed by Rock’s Rent-All.
- Labor is charged at $125/hour with a one-hour charge minimum.
- Do NOT attempt repairs on any equipment.
- If a problem arises, stop use immediately and contact Rock’s Rent-All for assistance.
Dirty returns:
- $100 cleaning fee for all skid steers, excavators, chippers, stumper, trailers, tractors and
- $50 cleaning fee for all small equipment, walk behind blowers, sander, log splitters etc.
Fuel Policy
- All equipment is provided with a full tank of fuel.
- Equipment must be returned full.
- If not, a $75 service charge plus the cost of fuel will apply—no exceptions.
Late Returns
- A $25 fee per 15 minutes will be charged for equipment returned after 4:30 PM.
- To extend a reservation, you must call before the scheduled return time to obtain approval.
Refunds
- There are no refunds for early returns, unused days.
- You are 100% responsible for the time you reserve.
- Please plan your rental accordingly.
- You are 100% responsible for the time you reserve.
- Refunds based on weather will be based on owner discretion only.

Fishing Boats

All units rented will go out with a full tank of gas. Renter will be charged for any fuel used if boat is returned without filling the tank along with a $15.00 service charge. Charges will be billed to the credit card on file.
All renters/drivers must be 21 YEARS OF AGE & have a valid driver’s license.
RESERVATIONS
Boats are available for a 2-day minimum.
A major credit card, NO debit cards, required at time of reservation with a $100 deposit plus applicable fees and taxes rental deposit per unit is required. The reservation deposit is applied to the total rental cost.
PICK UP & RETURN TIMES
We do not deliver fishing boats. The boat is ready on a trailer to take to the lake(s) of your choice, 2" ball needed. Pick up at 8:30 AM with a return time of 4:30 PM. There is a late fee of $25 per 15 minutes for late returns if prior arrangements have not been made.
DAMAGE DEPOSIT
We do not offer insurance, please check with your insurance. You are 100% responsible for any and all damage that happens during your rental period to the unit. The rental period begins upon delivery of the boat. A major credit card, NO debit cards, required for damage deposit hold of $500 per unit will be authorized to your credit card. Damage deposit will be released provided there is no damage upon a boat returned and fully inspected. The renter is completely responsible for all damage to but not limited to, the inside/outside of boat, motor, and prop during their rental period. In the event of the boat being damaged we reserve the right to charge the card on file the total amount of repairs.
Rock’s Rent-All may use, apply or retain all or any portion of said Damage Deposit for the payment toward any amounts owed by Renter, including but not limited to cost of replacement machine and any lost rental days.
CANCELLATION
There is a 7-day cancellation notice required and a $50 cancellation fee for any cancellation. The full rental rate will be charged for no call/no show rentals.
There is no refund for early return, unused days, or bad weather.

Pontoons may not be trailered by renters.

We deliver and pick up at public boat launches only (no dock delivery except at Serenity Bay).

Paperwork is preferred to be completed before delivery at our office to avoid congestion at the boat launch. We can bring paperwork to the boat launch if there is a time crunch for signatures.

Age & Safety Requirements

All renters/drivers must be 21 YEARS OF AGE & have a valid driver’s license.

In Wisconsin all persons who are at least 12 years of age and who were born on or after January 1, 1985, are required to take a Wisconsin-Approved Snowmobile Safety Course and obtain a snowmobile safety certificate when riding on public lands.
Pick Up and Return
-
Snowmobile pickup is at 9:00 a.m. and drop off is at 8:00 a.m. the next day.
-
An additional fee of $50.00 per hour will be assessed on all late returns—no excuses.
Damage Deposit & Responsibility
-
A $1,000 damage deposit is held on the credit card on file until the unit is returned and inspected.

Rock’s Rent-All may use all or part of this deposit for damages, replacement costs, and/or lost rental days.

We do NOT offer insurance; please check with your agent.

Renters are 100% responsible for any and all damage to the unit as well as but not limited to, bodily injury, property damage, tickets, theft, vandalism, or misuse and total replacement cost of rental unit during the rental period starting at pickup.

Examples of misuse include but are not limited to excessive speeding, racing, reckless driving, intoxication, or narcotics influence.

Renter understands that ANY parts or damage to the snowmobile that requires repair or replacement (including labor (labor rate is $95.00 per hour with a one hour minimum)) will be done at renter’s expense and any lost rental days if applicable.

Accidents must be reported to the DNR, police, and Rock’s Rent-All within 24 hours.
-
Liability includes accidents on major highways or any total loss, with renter responsible for 100% replacement cost of unit and lost rental income.
Sled Recovery
-
If we are called out and have to come and recover a sled(s) for any reason other than a mechanical failure that is not due to misuse, there is a recovery fee of $500 per sled that will be charged to the card on file.
Fuel Policy
-
All units rented will go out with a full tank of gas & oil and need to be returned with a full tank of gas (91 Octane ONLY), high octane only.

Renters will be charged for any fuel used if the snowmobile is returned without a full tank along with a $15.00 service charge. Charges will be billed to the credit card on file.
Operating Area & Registration
-
Rental units come with Wisconsin registration only and must be operated in Vilas County or neighboring counties on officially designated trails or routes.
Trailering & Delivery
-
Our units may be trailered by renters to Michigan.
-
We do NOT offer delivery; all rentals must be picked up by the renter. We are located with direct access to snowmobile trail.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
-
There is a $50 per sled cancellation fee.
-
Loss of FULL deposit for reservations cancelled within 14 days.
-
The full rental rate will be charged per day, per snowmobile, if cancelling within 72 hours.
-
We reserve the right to cancel or substitute models due to circumstances beyond our control.
-
We reserve the right to cancel reservations, if needed, due to outside conditions such as trail conditions, weather conditions or conditions outside our control that contribute to safety concerns.

UTV Certification Info
ATV/UTV Course Requirements
Anyone who operates an ATV on public riding areas – e.g. trails, frozen waters, routes, permitted county and/or forest lands – who is at least age 12 years of age and who was born on or after Jan. 1, 1988, must have completed an ATV safety certification course.
Anyone who operates an UTV on public riding areas - e.g. trails, frozen waters, routes, permitted county and/or forest lands - who is at least 16 years of age and who was born on or after Jan. 1, 1988, must have completed an ATV safety certification course.

Operators must carry their safety certification card and they must display it to law enforcement officers when requested.

Helmet Law:

Wisconsin law requires anyone under 18 to wear a DOT-approved helmet.

DOT helmets for those under 18 are available to rent for $10 per day.
Operating Area & Registration

Rental units come with Wisconsin registration only and must be operated within Vilas County or neighboring counties on officially designated Off Road Vehicle (ORV) trails or routes.
Reservation Deposit

A $100 deposit (no debit cards) plus applicable fees and taxes is required per unit. This deposit will be applied toward the total rental cost.
Rental Duration & Late Fees
-
A day rental is from 9:00 AM pickup to 4:30 PM same day return.

Extend your day rental until 8:00 AM the next morning for a $100 upgrade (not valid on Saturday rentals).

Late returns will incur a $25 charge per 15 minutes, no exceptions.
